Reminded of the dire need
As hunger churns at ramped speed.
The shouts and screams of little kids
My mind replays, it cannot rid.
Their hurt, their pain
Strung deep inside.
A need so big
You cannot hide.
Some food, some clothes
Will it satisfy?
The deepest desires
It cannot; why?
A hope that wins
Found only in Christ
Not battered, or bruised
Not scraped, not sliced.
He took it all
Upon the cross
Where he paid our due
The whole cost
In Him, there is hope
For things brand new
A hope offered to them
To me, To you.
So let hope rise
Let you emotions be stirred
And “Be the change
You wish to see in the world.”
“So we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the Gospel of God but our lives as well.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8
